SUKKUR, Nov 14: A man and a woman who married of their own free will have been declared kari-karo by a jirga held in Tangwani on Saturday and ordered to leave their village.

Sadia and Abid Ali had left their village of Rasoolabad almost six months ago and they got married in a court. Their marriage sparked enmity between the two families.

The jirga, presided over by former district naib nazim Noor Mohammad Khoso, heard members of the two families and the couple, and declared Sadia and Abid karo-kari, imposed a fine of Rs500,000 on Abid Ali and ordered them to leave the village.
