Demonstration against dam

By A Correspondent

UMERKOT: A large number of people belonging to the Hindu community urged the government on Sunday to scrap a plan to build a dam near Hinglaj temple in Balochistan.

They attended a procession organised by the Hinglaj Sheva Mandli and said the community would launch a movement if the decision was not reverted.

They warned that another demonstration would be held on Feb 23 to protest against the decision.

The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans: “We don’t want Hangol dam”, “Stop destruction of religious places” and “Save Hinglaj temple”.
