KARACHI, Dec 30: Sindh Government Press (SGP) came back into the game to beat Police 2-1 in the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) League group ‘A’ match played at the Korangi Baloch Stadium on Tuesday.

The match saw Police taking a fall for a second consecutive time. They now have to win their third match against Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Thursday to stay in the race.

Scoring was opened by Police in the sixth minute through their winger Rasheed Ahmed. A one-two combination with midfielder Zulfiqar Ali resulted in Rasheed’s slotting the ball into the left corner past goalkeeper Adnan Ahmad.

SSGC recovered when their midfielder Mohammad Ilyas converted a long pass from defender Akhtar Ali in the 28th minute. Police’s goalkeeper Saeed Ahmed couldn’t get to it in time and the score at interval was levelled 1-1.

The second session saw the scoring of the decider when SSGC’s striker Saeed Ahmed converted midfielder Javed Ahmed’s pass.

The ball penetrated the opposition’s defence and Saeed dodged three players to send it into the goal in the 83rd minute.
