KARACHI: Security

KARACHI, Dec 29: Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza has directed police officials to make all-out efforts for effective enforcement of a contingency plan during Muharram.

Reviewing the contingency plan chalked out by Rangers and police with the collaboration of the city government and other law-enforcement agencies on Monday, he asked the police not only to utilise the city’s command and control system but also set up temporary control rooms and emergency centres at designated sites on Muharram 8, 9 and 10.

The meeting was informed that the main control room set up at the central police office would work round the clock while temporary emergency centres would remain in contact with the main control room.—PPI
