LAHORE, Dec 20: Around 200 people attacked and tortured court bailiff and owners of a plaza in Azam Cloth Market here on Saturday.

The bailiff along with a police team headed by Naulakha DSP Imtiaz Sarwar and Masti Gate SHO Inspector Irfan went to execute a court decree to evict illegal occupants Tanvir, Tariq Mahmood, Asif and others from the shops owned by Ahmad Ali Qureshi and Muhammad Ali Qureshi.

The occupants refused to obey court orders and instead called their accomplices Liaquat, Nawazish, Nasim, Saleem, Rasheed and others to help them frustrate the eviction. Later, they mauled the bailiff and also broke fingers of constable Ali Ahmad. — APP
