Port Qasim


KARACHI, Nov 25: Brisk shipping was witnessed at the Port Qasim where four ships scheduled to load, offload containers, palm oil, crude oil and chemicals were accommodated berths at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Fotco Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Two more ships arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim while three ships, Voc Progress, Maerk Ohio and MT Qem Star sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.

A total of six ships, CV Maersk Ohio, MV Al-Barella, Voc Progress, MT Qem Star, Atlanta and Iron Moanger-3, were accommodated at PQA berths to load or offload containers, cement, project cargo, wheat, palm oil and crude oil respectively during the report period.

The port handled 74468 tons of total cargo, comprising 55,123 tons of import and 19,345 tons of exports, inclusive of containerised cargo 2,384 containers (TEUs).
