RAWALPINDI, Nov 12: A college student was shot dead while two others, including a police official, suffered bullet injury when they were attacked by two other police personnel along with their father in Dhoke Ratta on Wednesday night, police said.

The alleged killers, Waqas alias viki and Tahir alias Tahri, were from police department, while their father who according to police was also with his sons when they attacked their rivals.

Police said Hassan Raza, the deceased was passing through a street when Waqas, his brother Tahir intercepted them in the street and opened fire on them.

As a result, Hassan Raza, 22, was killed on the spot while his friend Mohammad Imran who is a police employee was injured. A passer-by identified as Raja Adil was also injured in the attack.

Police said one of the attackers Waqas was a police official and presently posted at Waris Khan police station while his brother Tahir is an employee at prison department. The alleged killers had escaped from the scene, the police said.

A senior police official said all the people involved in the murder were friends and they had a brawl over some petty issue on the occasion of a wedding ceremony, held a few days ago. But at that time the issue was settled between them.

The dead and injured victims were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
