Bashir Sheikh, deceased’s father, has contended in the application that both the above mentioned police officers have already formed their opinion regarding the murder of his son Naveed Sheikh. He has requested that both these officers should be replaced.

DPO of Hyderabad, however, said hat he wouldn’t restrain the two police officers from investigating the case because there has to be a reason for expressing no-confidence on these officers. “If the complainant party as confidence on head of the investigation then it will be transparent. I had formed the team on the request of complainant and the team comprised honest officers. He said that if the officers are changed every now and then the application might express no-confidence on other officers. He said in categorical terms that he wouldn’t replace the investigating officers.

Meanwhile, a medical board has been formed on Monday by the Director-General of Health Services Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, on the application filed by deceased’s father. He had submitted the application and contested the post-mortem report of his son on the grounds of ‘make of nature’ of weapon of offence as well size of entry and exit wounds.

The board is headed by Dr.Afzal Memon. Dr.Akmal Jamal and police surgeon, Dr.Hussain Shah Bukhari, are its members and the board has submit its report within 10 days.

According to Dr.Afzal Memon, the medical board would look into aspects of report regarding size of bullet injury on the deceased’s temple. Bashir Shaikh, deputy registrar of Sindh High Court Sukkur bench, in his application argued that post-mortem report is in clear violation of settled principles of medical jurisprudence. He said that size of injury has been shown two centimeter in diameter as wound of entry whereas diameter of exit wound is shown as one centimeter. “According to medical jurisprudence the diameter of entry wound should be smaller than exit wound”, he claimed. He said that it was pertinent to mention here that the deceased has been killed by a 30 bore pistol and not by any weapon, containing pellets.

Police were not sure whether it’s a suicide or a premeditated murder.
