KARACHI, Oct 30: Prof Aqeel Ahmed (Microbiology) and Dr Shakeel Farooqui were elected president and secretary, respectively, of the Karachi University Teacher Society (KUTS) on Thursday.

The election of the KUTS office-bearers for 2008-09 was held on the campus in a peaceful atmosphere.

The other office-bearers declared elected are: Prof Abid Hasnain (vice-president), Dr Anila Amber Malik (treasurer) and Asim Ali and Naheed Parveen (joint secretaries).
