KARACHI, Oct 20: Five suspects allegedly involved in carjacking and theft of CNG kits from vehicles were arrested.

Police recovered stolen cars and CNG kits, as well as contraband and arms, from their possession.

A police party of the ACLU, acting upon a tip-off, raided a place on Sir Shah Sulaiman Road and arrested Abdul Ghafoor and Malik Bashir.

A car (Z-1771), which was stolen earlier in the limits of the Aziz Bhatti police station, was recovered from their possession.

Police also recovered a pistol and charas from their possession.

On the information extracted from the suspects during interrogation, police rounded up their associates, Waris Ali, Mohammad Ayub and Shaban, in Yousaf Goth and recovered four more vehicles, (AB-3794) stolen in the Mobina town police station limits; (K-6706) stolen in the Aziz Bhatti police station limits; (AB-0536) stolen in the Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan police station limits; and (W-8039) stolen in the Taimuria police station limits.

Police also recovered 10 CNG kits and other accessories from the possession of the suspects.

DIG Zafar Abbas Bukhari took charge of the DIG East from DIG South A. D. Khawaja, who had been looking after the East zone in addition to his own charge.
