KARACHI, Oct 20: Five ships carrying containers and general cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, Chopol-2 to load cement, Harmony, Lanka Mahapola to unload and load containers Marwah, an oil tanker, Meridian Navigator to unload and load general cargo and Johar to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of over a dozen ships during the last two days.

The departing ships were led by Inventive, Conti Harmony, Francisca Schulte, Harmony, Oxl Blue Sea, North Pole, You Liang, Stotl Acacia, Bohai Challenge, Cemrem, Lalazar, Meridian Navigator and Shaheen A-Ghanim-10.

While Al-Marwah, Lanka Mahapola, Bunga Delima, Flag Investor, Neptune Ace, Deja Bhum, H.H. Tide, Bolan, Ulcas, Johar and D.D. Vigor are due to sail out on Tuesday.

A total tonnage of 193,000 tons comprising 70,252 tons of export cargo including 2,594 tons of rice and 45,000 tons of cement and clinker and 123,000 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: APL Yokohama, X-Press Khyber, Wan Hai-301, Soon Fu with containers and Chi Feng Kou with general cargo.
