KARACHI, Sept 27: Director-General of the Sindh Rangers Maj-Gen Liaquat Ali on Saturday called on Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM’s House and discussed with him the law and order prevailing in the province.

Maintaining that the Rangers, police and other law-enforcing agencies should remain on high alert to foil any evil designs of anti-state elements, he called for concerted and coordinated efforts to maintain peace.

He said a prompt strategy be formulated with full implementation of a security plan, particularly during the Eid holidays.

The chief minister appreciated the Rangers for their vigilance, patrolling and strategy for maintaining peace in Sindh, particularly Karachi.

Earlier, the DG Rangers apprised the chief minister of the steps taken and the plans being followed by the Rangers.

Meanwhile, a statement issued by the chief minister on Saturday appreciated the timely action taken by police and other law-enforcement agencies against terrorists in Baldia Town on Friday, and noted that the city was saved from possible terrorism. The chief minister said the government was taking every possible step for the protection of the life and property of citizens.

He also appealed to citizens to keep a close eye on anti-state elements.

The Sindh governor and chief minister announced a reward of Rs500,000 for each of the policemen who participated in the Saeedabad, Baldia Town, operation.—Agencies
