Flour price up in Mirpurkhas

Published September 21, 2008

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 20: Retailers have increased price of flour in the city and adjoining areas to Rs26 to Rs27 per kg during the holy month of Ramazan.

Chakki and flourmill owners have compelled people to buy flour at high rate despite Sindh government announcement that the flour would be available at discounted rate during Ramazan.

The district administration had in a meeting with representatives of chakki and flourmill owners decided to fix flour price at Rs24.50 per kilogram but it could never get them to enforce it.

Chakki owners said that they were being provided only 10 bags per stone in a week, causing shortage of flour.
