MQM terms attacks unacceptable

LONDON, Sept 16: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Husain has said Pakistan will not accept any attack on its territory.

He was talking to journalists outside a hotel after a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday.

He congratulated Mr Zardari on his election to the office of president and offered condolences on the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. Mr Husain reiterated his party’s support for the government.

He said the MQM wanted all issues facing the country resolved through negotiations.

He said the president would go to the US next week and also visit China to seek support in the war against terrorism. He said President Zardari was trying his best to convince the world about the country’s stand on the issue.

The MQM leader said the country was facing serious challenges, the crises of flour, energy and law and order but the president was trying his best to solve the problems.—APP
