Anti-PPP forces not happy with people’s govt: president

NAWABSHAH, Sept 12: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the enemy is not happy over the PPP’s coming into power as they do not want solution of problems of people.

He was speaking to a delegation, led by elected representatives of Nawabshah, at the airport here on Friday.

He said that the restoration of democracy and elimination of dictatorship was the result of sacrifice of Benazir Bhutto who believed democracy was the best revenge.

MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio, acting Nawabshah District Nazim Abdul Haq Jamali, coordinator to MNA Faryal Talpur Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar and other members of the delegation informed the president about several local problems, including unannounced loadshedding, shortage of irrigation water and fertilisers.

The president directed the Sindh chief minster to ensure proper supply of water to the canals of Nawabshah and also directed that loadshedding and issuance of detection bills be ended.

Later President Zardari offered Fateha at the grave of his mother and other elders in Baalu Ja Quba graveyard, a few kilometers away from Nawabshah. Thereafter, he left for Sehwan.

There President Zardari visited the Shrine of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz, laid wreaths and offered prayers. He also inspected the on-going construction work at the shrine. Sources said that the president took notice of the complaint of PPP MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur about usage of sub-standard material in the work of shrine renovation project. He also complained that water enters in the Mazaar during rainy season because of faulty drainage system.
