HYDERABAD: Removal of employees ‘on extension’ urged

HYDERABAD, Sept 12: The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association’s Sindh chapter has called for the removal of officials getting extension in service after retirement.

Association’s provincial secretary Prof Badar Soomro said that the federal government comes into action if unrest was witnessed in the International University, Islamabad. However, the same was not with the case of Sindh Agriculture University where agitation by employees was continuing for the last two and a half months.

Terming it regrettable, he appealed to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to meet with their representatives for apprising himself of the prevailing situation in educational institutions.

He said that the federation sent a communication to the chief minister on May 8, seeking interview but till date there was no response.

LEGAL NOTICE: A legal notice has been issued to the vice chancellor to pay outstanding salaries to the staff within a fortnight failing which legal proceedings will be initiated against him for payment of Rs for misusing the office.

The notice was issued on behalf of the employees of Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam.
