KARACHI, Sept 12: Five ships scheduled to load/offload containers, clinker, palm oil and chemicals were allotted berths on Thursday, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, four more ships carrying containers, palm oil and coal also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Nine ships, CMA CGM Kingston, Maersk Georgia, Energy Falcon, Melpoment, Med Salvador, Oak Galaxy, Prem Pride, Yanaseni and Hellenic Horizon, were busy in loading and unloading containers, clinker, wheat, rapeseeds, palm oil, crude oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 102,000 tons comprising 91,000 tons of import and 11,000 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Mustafa Bay and Yanaseni sailed out while CMA CGM Kingston was expected to leave the port.
