KARACHI, Aug 30: Four ships scheduled to load/offload containers, palm oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Qatari Ibn AI Fujaa, Maersk Iowa, Orient-II, Berenice, Chemroute Sum, ST. Mark, Global Jupiter and Iran Hamzeh, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, phosphoric acid, wheat, palm oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 52,546 tons comprising 38,824 tons of import and 13,722 tons of export cargo was handled. Maersk Iowa, Oia Fujaa and Iran Hamzeh sailed out.
