HOUSTON, Aug 18: US power generation in the week ended Aug 21 was down 6.88 per cent from the week before and down 8.11 per cent from the same week a year ago, Genscape said on Monday.Milder summer weather week over week but particularly year over year -- August 2007 was unusually hot -- led to the decreases, Genscape said.

To make its calculations, Genscape uses sources including publicly available data and electricity demand measured at more than 280 power plants.—Reuters
