Girls school, barber shop set on fire in Swat

MINGORA, Aug 17: At least four people were killed and 13 others were injured in different areas of Swat on Sunday.

A basic health unit, a girls’ school and a barber shop were set on fire and a police post was blown up by militants.

The security forces attacked suspected militant hideouts with heavy weapons.

A stray shell hit the house of one Wazirzada in Dagi area of Kabal tehsil, killing his mother and injuring five other inmates.

Another shell hit the residence of one Mian Gul in Hazara area, killing a 15-year-old boy and injuring four other people.

Two people, Sher Bahadar and Mohammad Rahim, were killed and five others were injured when security forces traded fire with a group of militants in Manglawar.

The health unit and the barber shop were set ablaze in Guli Bagh area of Charbagh and girls’ school in Sambat area of Matta.

A bomb went off at a post which had been vacated by police in Landaki, destroying the building.
