KARACHI, Aug 8: Two ships scheduled to load/offload containers were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, another vessel with edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy stood at 70 per cent at the wharves where seven ships, APL Almandine, Sambhar, QSM Dubai, Alexi-1, Leopard-B, Long Fin and Jin Yiare, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 53,513 tons comprising 45,138 tons of import and 8,375 tons of export tonnage was handled. APL Almandine and Long Fin sailed out while Sambhar was expected to depart.
