KARACHI, Aug 7: A meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah here on Thursday decided to form a mobile task force immediately for the revamping and revitalizing of the agriculture research and extension system.
The chief minister himself will head the task force, named the “Chief Minister’s Task Force for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries” and prominent figures and experts in their respective fields will be nominated as its members.
The task force will pay surprise visits to research institutes regularly to achieve better results.
The chief minister told the meeting that in view of the prevailing food crisis around the world, it was imperative to pay greater attention to the agriculture sector and increase the per acre yield of various crops.
Mr Shah also stressed on educating farmers through media in this regard.—APP
