Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Aug 6: Berthing activity was maintained on the higher side at the Karachi port on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Meanwhile, two ships including a clinker loader are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, it said.

Following ships, Cape Ferrol, APL Chicago to unload and load containers, BBC Brazil to unload and load general cargo, Patriach to unload DAP fertiliser, Red Sea Spirit to load cement and Bengal Orchid to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of five on Wednesday.

The departing ships were led by Royal Jasper, Nordana–G, Empress Phoenix, Mol Admiration and CEC Cristobal, while Cape Ferrol, BBC Brazil, Devi Glory, Ali-16, Hawaian Star, Al-Farabi, APL Chicago, Eltanin, Bengal Orchid and Vinalines Saigon are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 128,000 tons comprising 42,030 tons of export cargo including 5,130 tons of rice and 14,000 tons of cement and clinker and 85,742 tons of import tonnage was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Limari with containers and Shaheen Al-Ghanim-10 to load clinker.
