MIANWALI, July 29: Police claimed on Tuesday to have foiled a bid to smuggle wheat to the NWFP from Dara Tang which is located in Isakhel tehsil (75 kilometres from here).
A Dara Tang check post team stopped a truck (PRE-1910) on suspicion, and found 230 sacks of wheat hidden under the fodder. The police arrested driver Ghulam Bashir who claimed that he was carrying wheat from Punjab to the NWFP.
The police instituted a case against the driver.
