By Hussain Khan

PARACHINAR, July 1: Tribesmen on Tuesday set free 44 personnel of the Frontier Corps who had been taken hostage in the Piwar area of Kurram tribal region on Monday.

Officials said that local people handed over the hostages to a joint jirga of the Turi tribe unconditionally.

Tribesmen captured the personnel suspecting that they belonged to rival tribes. The Turi tribesmen also freed two people who belonged to rival groups on humanitarian ground.

Meanwhile, a member of the Turi tribe who had been kidnapped in the Lower Kurram region last week was found dead on Tuesday.

The body of Jamail Hussain was found in Bagan village near Alizai town.
