HYDERABAD, June 20: Badin police remained completely clueless about Kamran Tessori – a close associate of former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim – as neither he nor the ASI Hashim Sehto could be recovered so far.

On the other hand, the authorities right from DIG Hyderabad zone to DPO Badin are tight-lipped over the incident that has taken place in the home district of Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza, making the whole affair more mysterious.

“Neither Kamran Tessori nor ASI Hashim Sahto are so far recovered”, said a policeman of Tando Bago police station. He said that ten accused have been booked, seven of them are unknown and three are named in the FIR No 70/08 which is lodged after Tessori escaped from police custody.

Tessori is believed to have entered in real estate business in Badin and other districts and had made various land related deals. “He used to even call the shots in chief minister house as far as affairs of other ministeries are concerned”, said a former Sindh minister.

Tessori escaped on Tuesday while he was being taken to the court of civil judge and judicial magistrate for obtaining his remand in FIR No 61/08, lodged on the complaint of one Mujahid Khawaja regarding a robbery of cash and vehicles. According to Tando Bago police he is not a nominated accused.

“I have asked DPO Badin to conduct an inquiry and submit me report within one week’s time”, said DIG Sanaullah Abbasi over phone when asked whether he had any update regarding the case. He refused to go into details of the case. “Its not in my knowledge whether ASI Hashim Sahto has been recovered in the case”, he said.

Badin DPO Fida Hussain Mastoi is not available on phone. A message was left in his office but there is no response from him.
