HYDERABAD, June 20: The chairman of the second Shaikh Ayaz international conference on language and literature, Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio, has announced that the conference will be held on November 7 to 10.

He said in a statement that research scholars from all over the world would participate in the conference and present papers on different themes of the conference such as contribution of Shaikh Ayaz to language, literature, education and society, general and applied linguistics, literary classics, literary criticism, comparative studies in literature, drama, film and television.

He said that languages of the conference will be English, Urdu and Sindhi and a participant could present a paper in any language provided he submitted his abstracts in English.

The last date for submission of abstracts has been fixed as July 31, announcement about the acceptance of abstracts would be made on August 15 and last date for submission of full paper will be September 30.

The registration fee for foreign scholars has been fixed as $100 and for local scholars Rs1,000.

BOOK PUBLISHED: The Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi Chair of the University of Sindh has published a book titled “Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi and His Contemporary Scholars and Intellectuals.”

On Friday a copy of the book was presented to Sindh University Vice- Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui by Dr Qazi Khadim Hussain, honorary director of the Qasmi chair.

The book is spread over 300 pages with four-colour title and research articles on 24 scholars, including Shamsul Ulema Dr U.M. Daudpoto, Allama Mazharuddin Indher Halejvi, Moulana Abdullah Abid Chandio, Professor Ghulam Hussain Jalbani, Dr Abdul Wahid Halepoto, Pir Hisamuddin Rashidi, Makhdoom Ameer Ahmed Al-Hashimi, Mohammad Hanif Siddiqui, Rahimdad Khan Molai Shedai, M.H. Panhwar and Professor Atta Mohammad Hami.

The vice-chancellor appreciated efforts of the Qasmi chair and said that within short time, it had published seven valuable books.
