KARACHI: CAA plans drill

KARACHI, June 11: The Civil Aviation Authority has planned a full-scale “emergency evacuation exercise” at the Jinnah International Airport on Thursday, an official statement said on Wednesday.

The objective of the exercise is to test the airport fire and medical services’ capability and skills in responding to an emergency situation at the terminal building and to assess the serviceability of the fire detection and alarms system, firefighting system, emergency exit and signologies at the airport, according to the statement.

The flights arrival and departure schedule will remain unaffected during the two-hour exercise, it added.—Staff Reporter
