KARACHI, May 30: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has issued a licence to Noor LPG to construct the country’s first ever Auto-gas Station in Lahore.

The federal cabinet had approved LPG’s use as auto-gas in September 2005 and its regulatory framework was finalised in March 2007.

Ogra has approved framework calls for a minimum area requirement of 10,000 square feet and allows only licenced LPG marketing companies to set up such stations, said Belal Jabbar, CEO Noor LPG, in a statement.

Auto-gas stations will provide safe and efficient refuelling services and will bring about stability in LPG prices.

He said the company would also establish LPG conversion centres to ensure that vehicles were converted in line with international quality standards.

“LPG kits will cost one third of the cost of CNG and will be much safer due to LPG’s lower operating pressure of 250 psi versus 3600 psi of CNG,” he said.
