PML-Q can cut a deal with PPP: Fatyana

By Our Correspondent

TOBA TEK SINGH, May 12: PML-Q MNA Riaz Fatyana has said that Mian Nawaz Sharif wants to eat the cake and have it too by playing the role of opposition in the centre and the ruling party in Punjab.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he said: “The PML-Q MNAs can consider a deal with the PPP for strengthening the federal government.”

He said the PML-Q leaders -- Pervaiz Elahi, Faisal Saleh Hayat and Farooq Leghari -- about whom the PPP had reservations, would not hesitate to sit on `back benches’ in the `larger interest’ of democracy.

Fatyana said people had nothing to do with the restoration of judges and their real issues were shortage of flour and electricity loadshedding, so the government should pay attention to these problems.

To a question, he said President Musharraf was never weak as he was an elected head of the state. Except the PML-N and some small political parties, he was acceptable to all, Fatyana said.

INJURED: A woman, Shamim, fell down from a moving train in her attempt to board it here on Monday at Gojra as a result her legs were chopped.

The woman was rushed to Gojra THQ hospital from where she was referred to Faisalabad Allied hospital in a critical condition.
