LAHORE, April 20: Four-goal Taimur Ali Malik and another three by Shah Shamyl Alam helped Shaheen Insurance win the final of the Summer Polo Cup by beating Sherwood 8-3 in the final here on Sunday.

Taimur, who scored two goals in the first chukker, gave the winners a fine 2-0 start. The second chukker saw them go on a rampage when the score shot to 5-1. While Shamyl struck twice, Taimur hit his third for the winners with Azhar Ali reducing the margin for the losing side.

With Taimur finding the net again, the third chukker saw the winners increasing the lead to 6-3. Meanwhile Azhar struck back-to-back for the losing outfit. But Shamyl’s third and Syed Mohammad Raza’s one goal in the fourth chukker had the match’s fate sealed.

The third spot in the event was grabbed by Tricon when they beat Master Paints 8-4 thanks to a five-goal burst by Raja Samiullah.
