KARACHI: Lifting of ban demanded


KARACHI, April 20: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) on Sunday urged the government to take effective steps against

commercialisation of education in order to help the low-income group an equal opportunity to acquire quality education.

SPLA leaders Prof Syed Riaz Ahsan, Prof Manzoor Hussain Chishti, Prof Liaquat Aziz Solangi and others in their joint statement expressed the hope that the elected government would not pursue the previous government’s that commercialised education, privatised schools and colleges, changed academic session, banned teachers’ associations and indulged in irregularities.

They called for lifting of the ban on teachers’ unions.—PPI
