KARACHI: Conference on international relations

KARACHI, March 24: A two-day conference on “The State of International Relations in Pakistan” is being organised by the Department of International Relations, University of Karachi, on March 26 and 27 mainly to discuss teaching and research methods and suggest measures for introducing new concepts, approaches and theories in international relations.

The conference is being held, on the occasion of the department’s golden jubilee celebrations, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission and the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Islamabad.

Chairman of the Department Dr Moonis Ahmar told a news conference on Monday that the participants will share perceptions and exchange ideas on improving the syllabi of International Relations.

The moot would also suggest new teaching and research techniques in this field. He said the department was planning holding of a two-day workshop on “Foreign Policy Making Process” on April 28-29, 2008.
