Sindh amateur golf tees off today

KARACHI, March 20: As many as 135 golfers will be in fray at the 8th Sindh Amateur Golf Championship, which tees off at the Arabian Sea Country Club (ASCC) from Friday.

Muhammad Ali Hai, the country’s top-notch amateur golfer, will be leading the field in the three-day competition to be played over 54 holes.

He will be facing stiff challenge from a bunch of experienced golfers of the likes of Waseem Rana, Umer Bangash and Muhammad Rehman from Islamabad.

The other main contenders include the reigning champion Ayaz Gul, Ali Sher and Mohsin Hasan Khan.

Events will be held in Senior, Junior, Ladies and Veteran categories.

There are some 44 seniors, six juniors, nine ladies and 15 in the veterans’ competition to be played over 18 holes.—APP
