US senator Criticizes Bush policy

WASHINGTON, March 20: The war in Iraq prevented the United States from focusing on the Afghan-Pakistan border and allowed Al Qaeda to re-establish itself in that region, says Democrat’s Senator Russ Feingold.

Mr Feingold, who was giving his party’s response to President Bush’s speech on the fifth anniversary of the Iraq war, rejected Mr Bush’s claim that the Iraq war had made American safer.
