PESHAWAR: Inter-varsity debate turns into a noisy affair

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, March 20: An inter-university debate turned into a noisy and disorderly event on Thursday when activists of the Pakhtun Students Federation (PkSF) criticised the organisers for their ‘discriminative treatment’ with the students.

NWFP Agricultural University Peshawar had organised the debate on “Decline of Muslim world and lack of modernity”. Prof Said Khan Khalil, vice-chancellor of the university, was the chief guest on the occasion. The event was allegedly disrupted by activists of the PkSF when they started raising slogans against the organiser. They alleged that all students were not given a fair chance to participate in the debate.
