Police said ASI Mustafa and constable Salman were killed and two other people were injured when they were defusing a bomb on Kalam Road in Allahabad area. The injured were taken to the district headquarters hospital in Saidu Sharif.

Local people said the bomb had been spotted on Tuesday night but the disposal squad decided to defuse it early in the morning. The bomb exploded when an attempt was made to defuse it.

Police said the two seminary students were blown up while allegedly making a bomb. Police said the students of a seminary in Shaha Dheri had links with radical cleric Maulana Fazlullah.

Another bomb was spotted on the Imam Dheri Road on Wednesday night but Kanju police failed to defuse it because of darkness.
