Sabzi Mandi stays open

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 7: The new Sabzi Mandi (wholesale vegetable market) did not observe strike on Friday called by the Alliance of Market Associations to protest against the publication of blasphemous cartoons in Denmark.

There was active trading in the wholesale vegetable market where arrival of trucks from the upcountry ranged between 600 and 700 with normal lifting of stocks by retailers.

Falahi Anjuman Wholesale Vegetable Market president Haji Shahjehan told Dawn that they were not contacted by any association for observing the strike and said traders of perishable items, like vegetable and fruits, should have been informed in advance.
