NAWABSHAH, March 2: A Hindu girl was criminally assaulted by two men in Gupchani village, 10 kilometres from here on Saturday.

The 11-year-old girl was allegedly tortured and criminally assaulted by two men of her community, Mashooq Gurgula and Preen Gurgula.

The girl was brought to Nawabshah Medical College Hospital by her father for treatment.

Dr Yar Ali Jamali, medico legal officer, told Dawn that she had torture marks on her body. However, the final report regarding the assault would be issued after a complete investigation.

Dr Rehana said that she could initially say that the girl had been criminally assaulted. But, she said, however, she could not give the final opinion before a chemical report.

DPO Syed Ghayasuddin Rashidi said that the police had arrested the accused and registered an FIR on complaint of the victim’s father.
