KARACHI, Feb 27: A 30-member karate squad to participate in the three-day 17th National Karate Championship that is to take place in Sialkot from March 1 to 3 was announced here on Wednesday by Secretary Sindh Karate Association Naseem Qureshi.

The championship comprises four events — (a) Individual kumite (eight weights), (b) Team kumite, (c) Individual kata and (d) Team kata.

The squad: Abdul Rahim, Abu Huraira, Abdul Jabbar, Hamid Bakhtiar, Jamil Ahmed, Jawwad Ali Sammo, Karamatullah, Izharul Hasan, Mohammad Asif Memon, Kaleem Haider, Ali Waqas, Ghulam Raza, Hassanuddin, Safdar Ali, Mohsin Ali Hazara, Wasif Ali, Jahanzeb Naveed, Fida Hussain, Tariq Ali, Kaleemullah, Idress Changazi, Zahoor Baig Rehmani, Mubashir Hassan, Danish Khan, Akhtar Berhmani, Naseem Ahmed Qureshi, Mehtab Ali, Faraz Ahmed, Shaikh Abdullah Hameed (manager) and Abid Khan (coach). —PPI
