Fresh voting ordered in 10 polling stations

ISLAMABAD, Feb 20: Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Qazi Muhammad Farooq ordered on Wednesday re-polling in 10 polling stations.

According to a notification issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan, polling will be held on Feb 23 at polling station No235 set up at the Government Boys High School in Khar for the NA-172 seat (Dera Ghazi Khan-II) and PP-245 (DG Khan-VI).

Fresh voting will also be held in nine polling other stations of NA-171 (Dera Ghazi Khan-I) and PP-241 (Dera Ghazi Khan-II).

These include polling station No62 (Girls Primary School in Basti Dapa), 231 (Boys Primary High School in Lazdan), 233 (Boys Primary School), 252 (Boys Primary School), 268 (Boys Model School in Domber), 271 (Boys Primary School in Thakwal), No295 (Boys Primary School, Samaij), 303 (Boys Primary School in Barasar Tanga) and polling station No312 (Boys Primary School in Lophani).

The CEC has asked the Punjab chief secretary to ensure adequate security arrangements at the polling stations.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has asked the candidates who have been declared successful to submit statements about election expenses by Feb 28, pointing out that the Representation of the Peoples Act of 1976 required all successful candidates to submit expense records within ten days of elections.
