Shuttlers off to Vietnam

LAHORE, Feb 17: A nine-member Pakistan badminton squad, comprising seven players and two officials, left for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on Sunday to participate in the Thomas Cup Asia Zone matches being held there from Feb 19-24.

The tour according to Naqi Mohsin, senior vice president, Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF), would also prove helpful in preparing the team for the 2009 SAF Games to be held in Bangladesh.

The team will reach Vietnam via Bangkok.

Players: Zeeshan Umer, Wajid Ali, Ahsan Qamar, Mohammad Waqas Ahmed, Mohammad Attique, Rizwan Azam and Kashif Sulehri.

Officials: Tayyab Sohail (coach) and Raeesuddin Paracha (manager).
