Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Feb 7: The activity at the Karachi Port is expected to further pick up as 10 vessels carrying raw jute, containers and to load clinkers are due on Friday, according to KPT sources.

The berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, Kuleli, Chemway Lara, tankers, Conti Esperance, Hyundai Future with containers, Guan He Kou with general cargo and Ken Sirius with coal were accommodated berths.

Five vessels, Cap Colorado, APL Shenzhen, Winco Elise, Nordic Hanone and Bengal Orchid departed on Thursday, while Vinaship Ocean, Jindal Kamla and Oel Spirit are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 90,526 tons comprising 21,722 tons of export cargo including 6,142 tons of cement and 68,804 tons of import cargo was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Banga Lanka with 6,862 tons of raw jute, Eastern Star to load 22,000 tons of clinkers, Global Union with chemicals, Lalazar with crude oil, Gulf Bridge, Ninos, Iran Shahryar, Kota Ganteng, Y.M Improvement with containers and Breeze with general cargo.
