Published February 3, 2008

ISLAMABAD, Feb 2: Lt-Gen (retd) Hamid Javed has been appointed chairman of the Pak-Arab Refinery Ltd (Parco), a leading energy company with an asset base close to Rs100 billion, just two months after he was relieved from the post of the chief of staff to President Pervez Musharraf, it is learnt.

The new portfolio is believed to have come as compensation to Mr Javed for losing his earlier job reportedly for having different views on the issue of the imposition of emergency in Nov last year.—Staff Reporter
