Dollar little changed

LONDON, Feb 1: The dollar was little changed on Friday but off near record lows against the euro as players looked more closely at the latest US employment report after headline job losses spooked the market, dealers said.

In European trade on Friday, the euro was at $1.4845, little changed from $1.4857 in late New York trade on Thursday.

It had hit a mid-afternoon high of $1.4950, close to the record $1.4967 on November 23, shortly after the US jobs data.

The dollar was slightly easier at 106.34 yen, after 106.44 yen.

On the London Bullion Market the price of gold stood at $914.75 an ounce, down from the record highs and $923.25.—AFP
