KARACHI, Dec 8: Seven vessels carrying containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was slow where two ships, Eric G. Gibson and Virginia, to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships which departed included Chem Bothnia, Lalazar and St. Irene, while Ikan Altamira, Kapitan Byankin, Sea Princess, Jo Sycamore, Bunga Delima and Al-Rabab are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 80,274 tons comprising 39,131 tons of export cargo including 3,154 tons of rice and 6,423 tons of cement and 41,143 tons of import tonnage was handled on Saturday.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Comorin Pride, Hansa Genturt, Jitra Bhum, Wan Hai-301, Harmony, Sinar Bintan and Global Progress, all with containers.
