ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s nominees for two provincial assembly seats of Chitral have called upon party chairperson Benazir Bhutto to review her decision on the award of ticket for the lone National Assembly seat of the district.

Mohammad Saleem Khan from PF-89, and Shahzada Nisar Ahmed Jilani from PF-90 appealed to Ms Bhutto that award of the ticket to Shahzada Ghulam Mohiuddin for NA-32 would stand no chance of winning the seat, as he had no backing in the party as well as among the voters.

They said they had recommended the name of Fardad Ali Shah for the seat but due to unknown reasons the party chairperson had announced to award the ticket to a stranger.

They said the decision had angered party workers. Mr Shah has already filed nomination papers as an independent candidate.—Our Reporter
