HYDERABAD: 5 housing schemes declared illegal

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Nov 26: The provincial town planning department on Monday declared five private residential schemes of Dadu as illegal and cautioned people against booking any plots in these schemes.

The director of the department, Tahir Ahmed, said in a press statement that the department learnt after a survey that Gulshan-i-Madina Housing Scheme, Pir Punhal Colony, Ghaffaria Town Housing Scheme, Qadir New City Housing Scheme and Al-Hussain Zaur Colony in Dadu had been launched illegally without getting approval from the department.

Citing section 8 of the Town Planning Act, which clearly stipulates that any scheme not approved by the department is illegal and liable for legal action, Mr Ahmed said that notices had been issued to the sponsors of the illegal schemes asking them to close their booking offices and stop advertising the schemes.

He advised people not to book any plots in the illegal schemes. If they did put their money in the housing scams they would be doing it at their own risk and the department would not be responsible, he added.

ENTRY TEST: The University of Sindh announced on Monday that the test for admission to MS/MPhil programme would be held on Dec 16 at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Sciences (IMCS) in Allama I.I. Kazi Campus at 10am.

A notification said that the deadline for submission of forms was Dec 5. The candidates could seek admission to the disciplines of Arabic, Art and Design, English, Sindhi, Urdu, Education, Islamic Culture, Biochemistry and others.
