By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Nov 20: Regional Police Officer Rawalpindi Nasir Khan Durrani on Tuesday awarded punishments to four SHOs for their poor investigation in robbery cases and gave a 15-day’s deadline to five others to trace the robbery cases.

A spokesman for the RPO said four out of the five SHOs were issued censure notices while one-year service of the fifth official was forfeited.

They included inspectors Mohammad Sajjad, SHO Saddar Jhelum; Shakeel Ahmad, former SHO Saddar Hassanabdal; Lehrsab Khan, former SHO Dhudial Chakwal; Fazal Dad, former SHO Mangla Cantt Jhelum.

While inspectors Asif Iqbal, SHO Saddar Jhelum, Mian Afzaal Shah, SHO City Jhelum; Ahmad Ali, SHO City Chakwal; Ehsan Ellahi, former SHO Kallar Khar, and Mehmood Hassan, SHO Dina, were given the deadline to trace out the robbery cases.

The RPO rejected the appeals against dismissal by constables Majid Ali, Sher Afghan and Ms Tasleem Akhtar while two suspended constables - Kamran Rafique and Khalil Ahmed - were reinstated.

The appeals of ASIs Tanveer Azam and Khuda Dad were set aside while that of constable Khalid Abbas regarding dismissal was converted into withholding of increment of one year. Constable Irfan Iqbal’s reduction in pay by three stages was set aside and constable Nazar Husssain’s reduction in pay by two stages was converted into censure.
