By A Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 20: The Additional District & Sessions Judge-II (Central), Nelofer Shahnawaz Azimi on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a case pertaining the death of a 14-year-old boy till Nov 27 as the lawyers’ observed a boycott of court proceedings.

The judicial magistrate (East) Ayaz Mustafa Jokhio would record his statement on the next date of hearing.

Earlier, he had recorded the confessional statement of the accused, Mohammad Younus, who has been charged with the boy’s murder.

On Nov 13, the court had issued notice to the Sindh health secretary directing him to ensure the appearance of two medical-legal officers (MLOs) of the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in the court on the date of hearing.

The court had also issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of the MLOs for avoiding their appearance in the court for the last six years.

The MLOs, on Nov 15, had requested through an application more time, informing the court that they had been transferred to Hyderabad.

In the charge-sheet, the prosecution claimed that Mohammad Younus had stabbed the 14-year-old boy, Mohammad Ghiyas son of Mohammad Saleem, in Liaquatabad after an exchange of hot words with him on Aug 20, 2001. The accused pleaded not guilty.

The Super Market police had registered the case under relevant sections of PPC.

The post-mortem examination of the body was conducted by Dr Sarfaraz Gul and Dr Zafar Shah.
